PSF-Funded Advanced Research Laboratories Inaugurated at AWKUM

A landmark step in advancing scientific research and livestock health was marked with the inauguration of Pakistan Science Foundation-funded state-of-the-art laboratories at the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

The laboratories, established for novel phage therapy against antimicrobial-resistant bacteria and Lumpy Skin Disease vaccine development, were formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, AWKUM.

These high-impact research facilities, led by Prof. Dr. Sher Bahadar Khan and Dr. Abdul Sajid, will significantly strengthen the university’s innovation and research capacity, while contributing to indigenous solutions for emerging animal diseases and public health challenges in Pakistan.
