World Rabies Day was commemorated at the College of Veterinary Sciences, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) in collaboration with Lucky Animals Protection Shelter (LAPS) with an engaging and informative awareness event. The program featured educational lectures on rabies prevention and control, pet vaccination, a student poster competition, and an awareness walk around the university campus. The poster competition provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and knowledge about rabies prevention and control. Outstanding participants were recognized, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions awarded cash prizes in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to raising awareness. The event brought together students and faculty to highlight the importance of rabies prevention, responsible pet vaccination, public awareness, and the One Health approach in combating this fatal but preventable disease.
Together, we can work towards a rabies-free future. 🐕💉🌍
