Zubair Anwar Khan Scholarship distribution at UET, Peshawar

Peshawar-Born Pilot Zubair Ahmad Khan, Serving with a US-Based Airline, Awards Scholarships to UET Students

Mr. Zubair Ahmad Khan, a serving pilot with a US-based airline awarded scholarships to talented and deserving students at UET Peshawar. As many as ten scholarships in the form of financial assistance were granted to the eligible students in presence of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Sadiq Khattak, Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar and senior officials in a awarding ceremony held here today.

A native of Peshawar, Zubair Khan shared a story of resilience and determination with the students. Despite sustaining a childhood eye injury resulting in a permanent blindness caused by a firecracker, he pursued his passion with unwavering dedication and ultimately became a certified pilot in the US. Coming from a modest background as his father being a Rickshaw driver, he credited his success to the values of perseverance and self-belief instilled by his father from an early age.Addressing the students, he said that just as he is investing in their future today, they must commit to supporting the next generation. As right attitude goes a long way and always pay back. He further shared that his motivation for engaging with UET Peshawar stems from his aspiration to see its engineering graduates excel and attain prominent positions at international level.

Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak appreciated Zubair Khan’s philanthropic initiative and choosing UET Peshawar for the noble cause. In his address, he highlighted that only less than three percent youth reach the university level, urging students to remain grateful for this privilege. He advised them to pursue education with a sense of purpose rather than mere “need”. The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged and thanked Dr. Shahzad Khattak, Director Undergraduate Studies for his efforts in facilitating the initiative. Senior Dean, Prof. Dr. Rizwan M. Gul, Registrar Dr. Khizar Azam Khan, Director ORIC Dr. Arif Khattak and Director Admissions Dr. Khurram Sheraz were present on the occasion.
